Business Planning

The final deliverable in the Business Plan Development Funding process is to prepare and submit a Three Year Business Plan for consideration and approval by the Primary Care Initiative Committee (PCIC).  As per Schedule G of the Master Agreement , the Business Plan must meet the criteria specified by PCIC. Therefore, PCNs are asked to download the most recent version of the Business Plan and Budget Model  prior to documenting and submitting a draft for review by PCI Program Management Office. Note, the Business Plan template is a mandatory template that must be followed and while PCNs are strongly encouraged to use the PCI budget model as it has imbedded linkages, they may however use their own budget model provided the same information is available for analysis and interpretation.

The Business Plan will be reviewed by PCI staff and the PCN advised whether there are any components needing further clarification or revision in order to meet PCIC policy or guidelines. The PCN will make the required adjustments and submit a revised business plan detailing the changes from the previous submission. Once all required adjustments have been made and/or further clarification provided, PCI Program Management Office will advise the PCN of a date for formal presentation to PCIC and ask the PCN to now obtain physician and RHA signatures. Two hard copies of the of the signed final draft Business Plan and Budget Model and one electronic copy of the signed final draft Business Plan and Budget Model need to be submitted to PCI Program Management Office at least 3 weeks in advance of the PCIC presentation date.

Accompanying the above final draft submission should be an updated Summary sheet report from the PCN Business Plan Development Timeline Template noting the actual expenditures incurred to date to develop the Business Plan. This document will be reviewed by the PCI office staff and additional funds released to the PCN to support ongoing PCN planning activities as per the Business Plan Development funding guidelines.
