October 2008 Forum

Over 130 participants from 28 PCNs, health regions and provincial stakeholder organizations attended the October 9th PCI Forum - PCN Value: Measuring for Success.

Ninety one per cent of participants who completed an evaluation indicated the Forum met their expectations; they also made suggestions for improvement regarding the registration process and venue. PCI staff will be contacting those PCNs who have offered to share their practice stories around team work, shared care obstetrical programs with first nations focus and work on streamlining referral process.

Objectives

Participants will:
  1. Understand the importance of measuring the outcomes being achieved by PCNs.
  2. Develop awareness of opportunities to participate in consultations and/or early implementation projects resulting in consistent reporting requirements for PCNs on Key Health Outcome Indicators.
  3. Assess own PCN readiness to participate in Health Outcome Indicator reporting.
  4. Understand how the Electronic Information Systems can assist PCNs in demonstrating accomplishments.
